About Lumena

Lumena is building a modern platform for post-acute care, starting with home health and hospice. The industry is facing compressing margins, difficulty hiring and retaining staff, increasing compliance scrutiny, and complex, shifting payer requirements — and the software agencies run on wasn't built for any of it. We're building one system for the work of care, with AI employees that handle the repetitive work while the team stays in control.

The role

You'll be our founding sales hire. You'll own the pipeline end to end — from the first conversation to a signed agreement — working directly with the founder. There's no playbook yet; a big part of the job is writing it.

What you'll do

• Own the funnel end to end: prospect, run first conversations, demo the product, and close.
• Sell to the people who run agencies — owners, administrators, directors of nursing — and speak their language: margins, staffing, compliance, cash flow.
• Turn conversations into design partnerships and long-term customers.
• Feed what you hear in the market back into the product, closing the loop between what we ship and what customers actually need.
• Build the sales motion itself — materials, process, and pipeline discipline — as the team grows around you.

What we're looking for

• A track record of selling B2B software, ideally to operators rather than IT departments.
• Comfort running longer, multi-stakeholder sales processes from start to finish.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• The instinct to build your own pipeline rather than wait for one.
• Comfort operating in an early-stage, in-person startup environment.

Nice to have

• Experience selling EHRs or health tech, or selling into home health, hospice, or post-acute care.
• Experience as a founding or early sales hire, building the motion from scratch.
• Operational or clinical exposure to healthcare — you've seen how the work actually gets done.

Logistics

This role is full time and in person, five days a week, at our office at 5th and Bryant in San Francisco, with travel to customers.
